How to take pictures with blurry background

There’s 2 ways to achieve bokeh aka blurry background

1. Wide Aperture

You’ll need a lens with at least f2.8. Ideally f1.8 or lower. Shoot wide open either in aperture priority or manual mode, because the lower the aperture the shallower the depth of field is.

If the above paragraph makes your head hurt or you don’t have the luxury of a DSLR. Here’s a easier route.

2. Create distance between the subject and the background. 

Simply considerably increase the distance between the subject (the thing you want to focus on) and the background which you want blurry.

3. Pick your subject and get started

Now you just need a subject, a Christmas ornament, your family etc.

How to take pictures with blurry background on iphone or android

Make sure you tap on make subject you want to focus on and then watch as the background blurs.
