How to mask in Luminar Neo?

It’s actually quite simple. To create a mask, click the Edit Tab and then select the form of masking you wish to do. Depending on the photo, you might want to start with either the Brush or Erase functionality. Once activated, proceed to paint over the areas that need adjusting with a literal or soft-edged brush depending on what look you’re going for. For finer details such as outlining complex shapes, use the Lasso tool, and then refine any edges needed with the Brush Selection Tool. Once you’ve achieved your ideal mask you need to decide what to do with it.

Mask Actions include: Fill, Clear, Invert, Copy, Paste and Show.

The Fill option is an effective tool for masking an entire image with a single stroke. It can be used to quickly create a mask that covers the entirety of the photo, and then you are able to use the Paint tool in Erase mode to subtract from this mask. If you would like to remove your mask entirely, the Clear option is the best choice. This will enable you to start from scratch and add details with any of the masking tools.

Invert is an option that conveniently inverts your mask’s opacity and transparency values, while Copy and Paste are useful for transferring your current mask to other areas of the image or to another tool. Lastly, the Show button lets you toggle the visibility of your mask, allowing you to make more precise adjustments.
